The center aims to foster innovative teaching practices and promote lifelong learning.

The UWC Mostar Center for Professional Development of Teachers is dedicated to enhancing the skills and knowledge of educators in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The center aims to foster innovative teaching practices and promote lifelong learning by offering tailored training programs, workshops, and resources. Through collaboration with local and international experts, the center supports teachers in creating inclusive and dynamic learning environments that inspire teachers and strengthen educational standards across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Additionally, the UWC Mostar Center for Professional Development encourages collaboration and knowledge-sharing among educators, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth. As teachers become more effective, the overall quality of education in BiH rises, which can help empower the next generation.

Center for Professional Development - Activities

In the school year 2025/2026, the UWC Mostar Centre for Professional Development successfully organized four workshops aimed at enhancing teaching practices and fostering collaboration among educators. The Local language and Visual arts workshop took place in August 2025, followed by German language and Pedagogy workshops in January 2026.

These workshops brought together 74 teachers from 26 cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, representing both the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska, including the Distrikt Brčko.

The professors originated from the following cities :

Sarajevo, Mostar, Livno, Konjic, Jablanica, Vlasenica, Bugojno, Travnik, Tešanj, Tuzla, Zenica, Gradačac, Breza, Kladanj, Žepče, Tomislavgrad, Visoko, Cazin, Bosanski Petrovac, Jajce, Teslić, Maglaj, Zvornik, Neum, Stolac, Brčko.

Providing regular workshops enables teachers to stay current with new teaching strategies, promoting continuous improvement in education. Ongoing sessions ensure that educators remain engaged and motivated, which directly benefits the quality of education in the classroom.
By offering high-quality professional development opportunities, UWC Mostar continues to support educators in their mission to bring excellence and innovation into their classrooms, ultimately benefiting students and communities across the region.
